WHAT HAPPENED?
The ex-Tottenham midfielder has not stepped foot on a football pitch since 2022 after suffering a thigh injury and left Everton once his contract expired in the summer, although he has continued to train with the Toffees. But according to Il Secolo XIX, the 28-year-old could be close to making a return with Genoa, who have approached Dele about a potential deal.

As well as his thigh problem, Dele previously admitted he had been struggling with his mental health. A return to a top team would mark a significant achievement for the 37-cap international, who had the world at his feet once upon a time.
